Club Information

The purpose of our club is:

To join together as a support group to mothers of multiple-birth children;

To make available to members educational materials, research and publications related to multiple-birth children;

To educate parents, teacher and other professionals with an interest in multiples as to the aspects of child development which related to multiple-birth children;

To participate in research projects conducted by doctors and researchers.

 

 

Support

GOMOTT is made up of mothers of multiple-birth children of all ages.  We strive to provide support, information and encouragement for other mothers of multiple-birth children.  We maintain a reference list of members who have experienced specific parenting challenges (i.e. bed rest, infant reflux, apnea monitors, etc.) to share their insight with new or prospective moms.

 

Meetings

We usually meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm in the Barker Conference Rooms at Florida Hospital South in Orlando.  A new and prospective member orientation and welcome session is held at 6:30pm prior to each club business meeting. E-mail the 2nd VP for more prospective member info.

 

Informative Speakers

After the meeting, we often host guest speakers of panels regarding applicable topics for parents of multiple-birth children.  If you are an organization interested in speaking to our group, e-mail the 1st Vice President.

 

Social Events

Playdates and child oriented events are enjoyed by our members and their children.  Moms have luncheons and “Mom’s Night Out” events.  Four times a year we coordinate parties for the entire family: a Spring Fling, a Summer Bash, Fall Festival and Winter Festival.

 

Clothing Exchange

At least three times a year, we host a clothing exchange.  Club members are eligible to sell gently used equipment, toys, children’s and maternity clothing and many other items.  Current and prospective members are invited to shop for one hour prior to the general public.  Click here for more info.

State and National Affiliations

GOMOTT is a member of the Florida Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs (FOMOTC) and the National Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs (NOMOTC).  These organizations provide a variety of information, resources, research as well as annual conventions.
